I scream, you scream, we all screamed Rip Off at Dairy Queen

This has to be the most incompetent Dairy Queen I have ever entered.

Location: Hwy # 7 half a block from Main Street (Hwy # 48) Markham Ontario.

My daughter was in town visiting from London England and my other daughter and I decided to take her to the Dairy Queen for a Blizzard. What a treat this will be, or so we thought!

They ordered a Blizzard each. One with Peanut Butter Cups and Crispy Crunch and the other with Peanut Butter Cups, Crispy Crunch and fudge.

Well wouldn%u2019t you know it, they were out of Peanut Butter Cups. Which was announced to us after we ordered and paid.

Dad to the rescue. I ran to the variety store next door and bought Peanut Butter Cups and brought them back to be used. How could I disappoint my daughters when they were so excited to be going to the Dairy Queen!

Upon entering the store triumphantly waving the Peanut Butter Cups, it was announced that they were also out of Crispy Crunch.

Is this a joke! Off I go again to the store and get the Crispy Crunch bars.

I return and the Blizzard prep is under way.

When we finally get our Blizzards, my daughter realizes that she did not get the fudge in the one she had ordered. After we had already paid an additional 89 cents for the third ingredient!

Even though we had bought our own ingredients, we were not given any money back or an apology or anything. The staff suddenly decided that they could not speak English and didn%u2019t understand what we were talking about.

We simply left, upset, and shocked by the entire experience.

This is no way to run a business. It%u2019s amateurish to say the least. The other customers standing in line watching this fiasco go down were also in shook. There were about 8 on lookers witnessing this ridiculous series of events and the behavior of the staff.
I don%u2019t know if these people are hourly employee%u2019s, or owners of a franchise, but in all cases, they should be reprimanded for their unwillingness and inability to serve their customers in a professional manner and give us back the money we paid for ingredients they did not supply to us.

It%u2019s shameful!

The RESULT:

I have sent this complaint to Dairy Queen twice in the past. This was an incident from 2014. They responded with this form letter in 2014. There has been No feedback following this initial email.

Dear Mr. Macdonald,

experience to our attention.

DQC works with each of its independent franchise operators to ensure that

we are offering our customers the best products and service possible

during every visit. I am very sorry to learn that you have been

disappointed.

Your comments have been documented and forwarded to the independent

franchise owner of this restaurant for their information and

investigation. Additionally, I have forwarded your concerns to all

appropriate DQC personnel for their review.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us.

So there you have it. The story ended there. I guess all of the people that reviewed this email complaint, didn't think I should be compensated for anything.
